ChatGPT requests

I just noticed my most recent guest (who deleted her profile mid-stay) used a chatgpt generated message to request hosting. Has anyone else noticed these chatgpt messages?

Telling phrases that might indicate GPT:

  • I hope this finds you well
  • Your profile instantly caught my attention
  • Let’s swap stories
  • Delve into
  • Thrilled to connect with you
  • Looking forward to hearing back

I didn’t. Well I live so remote that I hardly get requests

I guess I’d feel disturbed if it came from a native English speaker… else I could totally understand that someone might use a language model to re-write or author for them. I do it with some communication tasks when I don’t feel so confident in a language.

I can’t sure if anyone use AI, but I suspect yes when I read them. That’s on another platform though

I didn’t get any of these messages, but it also depends on the content I think. If the message is generated with AI, it probably means that the person just wanted to generate a coherent text without their own abilities to do so, so I would still consider reading the message and see what they want.

The problem is not if the person choose to get an help to make a coherent message.
Problem is [but I have had also problem when someone asked a friend/colleague to translate] when the person that used that automatized feature because has no language proficiency, so you expect to have someone with a communication capability consistent with the sent message, and you get someone that is COMPLETELY unable to communicate.
Not to say that the AI could have misunderstood and put in the text some word that change completely the meaning, that the alleged author did not spotted.

Yeah this request was from a native English speaker. During her stay, she made it clear she was only staying to save money and she was here while searching for an apartment. Neutral experience but would not host someone like that again.
