# events attended in the last year

could we display in the user’s profile the # events they attended in the last year?
I’m thinking this could be an idea to (hopefully) increase event engagement / safety

  • users themselves could be motivated to create / attend events
  • other users could feel reassured that this is a real person who has been “validated” IRL by others
    • (although this could be abused, it would require validating that events are real and people actually attended them, instead of just clicking an “attend” button)

thoughts?

Not sure how useful this would be as a metric. While I’m into validation through quality references, what if I have no real intention of joining couchers events? Does that imply that users are less trustworthy if they haven’t attended events?
